How to embrace good stress and keep bad stress at bay
"Understanding Good and Bad Stress" explores what separates good stress from bad stress and helps you distinguish between the two. Feeling stressed is another way of saying we feel anxious—overwhelmed—or ill-equipped to handle a situation. And to some extent, we’re right to be cautious. Too much stress is bad.
Chronic stress contributes to physical and mental health problems ranging from heart disease and high blood pressure—to anxiety, depression, and personality disorders. But that doesn’t mean all stress is bad. Healthy levels of stress keep us engaged, inspire us to achieve our goals, and challenge us to grow and develop as people.
